Good morning! As the eastern part of the U.S. prepares for a blizzard (it might sideswipe us on its way, but I’m not holding my breath), consider what it was like to live through winter in medieval times. Horrid, apparently.

Duke University got a grant to digitize folk music recordings from the 1920s and ‘30s. You know these are going to be amazing.

Shakespeare Documented is now live! For Shakespearians, historians, and Anglophiles of all ages.

I somehow missed that there’s a huge story brewing about fixed professional tennis matches. Yikes.

My local library’s writer in residence writes about one of my favorite people and poets, Susan Glassmeyer. Go and read, and go see her read her work in person if you get a chance!
