It's time for the Friday links from others! Thanks, everyone!

From Cassandra: A Russian farmer is understandably upset about a rocket crashing on his property. Also from Cassandra: there once were lions at the Tower of London; men are once again gravitating toward cosmetics; a newly discovered recording pre-dates the Edison phonograph; a look at where the stars of the '80s John Hughes movies are today; an article on artist Lee Lozano; a bizarre creepy website called Miss Bimbo; and why are we all so angry these days, anyway?

Swiped from Mr. Shanks: as a counterpoint to Miss Bimbo, we have...elementary school mixed martial arts fighting. Um. This will turn out well.

From Holly: Rejected Star Wars toys!

Have a spiffy weekend, everyone! See you Monday.

The Friday edition of

The REAL news behind the headlines-

I’ve got it! The pre-dated audio was an enchanted recording of a French sorceress damning humanity! (Almost like listening to the White Album backwards)

Her spells were so powerful they destroyed the lions across the Channel, hindered the majority of men from wearing makeup-which, btw, made them angry and resentful of women, who are still able to use the body as canvas-making them angry enough to encourage their offspring to engage in “human cockfighting,”

The intensity of her anger resonates through the ages causing rockets to crash, John Hughes characters to age unbecomingly, and cool toys to be rejected.

The clever sorceress’ spell, while rudely interrupting men from using cosmetics, infected women and girls with a sickening vanity-hence, Little Miss Bimbette.

She was crafty, she was, as we are all continuing to suffer from the sting of her barbed curse, leaving us all very angry these days. We mortals probably deserved her brutality.

[Thanks for humoring me!]
